COLOR WAR RECAP

We had an awesome time at our summer kickoff event, the Color War! Thanks to everyone that came out! We had a ton of new faces there, so a special thanks to everyone that brought a friend! We're looking forward to the rest of our summer events with y'all! Watch the recap video here.

If you want to download pics, check out the ones Anna Cox took here! Here are the pics from Drew's phone.

UPCOMING EVENTS

6.14- Wednesday Morning Prayer Begins This Week
(10am-11:30am)
Each Wednesday morning this summer middle and high schoolers will gather for a time of prayer and studying scripture. We typically will follow this time with lunch and a fun youth activity. We will meet at the Hill house until we're ready to move in at New Garden Park in July!

Middle schoolers should be picked up at the Hill house at 11:30 this week and the high schoolers will leave at 11:30 for the camping trips.

Next week we're heading to Charlotte. Let us know if you'd like to come as a parent/driver.

Last summer we went through "The Aim of My Heart" together. This year, our summer devotional is "The Blue Book" by Jim Branch. It's similar to TAOMH and was written by a friend of mine who has been on staff with Young Life and a pastor for many years! He's giving us a great deal, $10/book. They're $16 on AmazonPlease send $10 with your child to morning prayer this week and we'll send them home with a great devo book that we'll all do together this summer.

6.14-6.16- High School Camping Trips
Immediately after morning prayer this Wednesday, our high schoolers will leave for The Man Trip and The Glamping Trip. The ladies should've received an email from Melissa Lewkowicz with info for their trip. All the details for the Man Trip are here.

SUMMER CALENDAR

Find a digital copy of the youth summer calendar here ! If you click on the events you'll be able to see more details about the events.

Our theme for the summer is "Hearing God." We're going to focus on that concept during all of our summer events. How do we tune out the noise of the world and pay attention to the true voice of God? Last summer our theme was "Fix our Eyes." This summer we're going to focus on "listening" as opposed to looking.

TALK WITH YOUR TEEN

Did you know that last week, at least 10 accepted, incoming Harvard freshman received letters revoking their admission due to inappropriate online behavior. About 100 members of Harvard’s incoming class participated in an inappropriate Facebook messaging group. Instead of using it for a harmless platform for social interaction, a core group of students shared racist, violent, and sexually explicit memes. University officials got wind of the activity and promptly rescinded admission to the most egregious users.
Help your kids understand that in our digital age, the private can become public in a heartbeat. If they wouldn’t shout it from the rooftops, they shouldn’t share it in a chat group. Sadly, what these 10 students need most is a great education, one that their actions forfeited them from receiving. (via Axis.org)
