Hello Dear Family and Friends!
Thank you guys for keeping me in your prayers as I headed on down to YWAM this past weekend. It was really awesome to see each of you before I left and to be able to tell you how God was working in my life, and calling me to this. I am excited to keep you updated every few weeks on what God is doing in me, on this base as well as around the world! Today we stared our first say of class after two days of orientation (and the classic awkward ice breakers), and let me say- I am already sooo blown away at how cool this program is! There are 11 others in my program, and then 18 other students doing 2 other schools on this campus as well, so it is a small quarter, but neat to see how much we've already bonded in just 2 days. I will give more of a comprehensive update in a few weeks, but for now the biggest and most important thing that I have to tell you all is that our outreach location has been changed!! Before the 12 students arrived, the staff who will be on our trip in a few months overseas were given an amazing opportunity to put together a small team to take to Europe to help with the current Refugee crisis in the Middle East. Because our school is so small this quarter, this is a GOLDEN opportunity to take a DTS group over to Europe. Each day refugees are flooding into Europe who are escaping the horrible things happening in their countries. This is such an awful thing happening in the world- however it is so cool to see how God can take any situation and make something good out of it. Because these people, predominately Muslims, are fleeing persecution from their own religion (Islam) they are much more open to hear about Jesus. If a team were to go into any of their countries, the danger and risk of persecution would be much higher, as these are closed countries to Christianity for the most part. But, because they are fleeing into open countries in Europe, it is much easier to share openly with them about Christianity. A team just returned a month ago from Germany and Greece, where a lot of refugees end up, and shared how ready these people were to hear about Christ! The need is so great, and my team of 12 from Orlando is now going to be apart of that! So, if you thought I was going to Asia (I certainly did), think again! I am so excited to be apart of this and apart of God's story being unfolded over in Europe. We will find out an exact location in a week or so, so I will keep you posted! In the meantime, please pray for where we will be going in advance and for our team and leaders to be open to wherever God leads us. -Kinsey
