RYM 2018 Summer Calendar

Parents,

We are so excited for a summer full of fun with your middle and high schoolers! Below is our Redeemer Youth Ministry (RYM) Summer Calendar.

• We take a break from SNL (Sunday Night Live) during the summer months and instead gather on Wednesday mornings at 10am for Morning Prayer, followed by another activity. Sometimes those activities last most of the day, others are shorter. Times are listed below. We try to have a variety of events that are free and those with minimal costs.
• We combine DRIVE (high school) & The Q (middle school) on Sunday mornings and are doing a Summer Sundays series called “FREE ME” about the 10 Commandments from 10:15-10:55 in June and August. Summer Sundays will not take place during July when we have one combined worship service at 10:00 AM instead of two 8:30am and 11am services.
• Rising 6th graders- graduated high school seniors are invited to all our summer youth events.
• NGP stands for New Garden Park
• WMP stands for Wednesday Morning Prayer. Wednesday Morning Prayer typically takes place from 10 to 11:30 AM at New Garden Park, but please read each event carefully for the drop-off and pick-up location
• We will need lots of parents to help with driving to the activities that are not at New Garden Park or are not only at one location. If you can help drive, email Valerie at VSagero12@gmail.com.
• Many of our summer events are designed so your kids can invite friends! Please encourage them to bring friends, especially to the June 10th summer kickoff event!

2018 RYM SUMMER CALENDAR

May

27 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM || No SNL- Memorial Day

June

3 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM  || NO SNL

10 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM

10- RYM Summer Kickoff at Lake Daniel Park. 6:00 PM (dinner and games). Parents are welcome to stay or to return for pickup at 8pm.

13 - Wednesday Morning Prayer kicks off at 10:00 AM at NGP. At 11:45am we’ll need some parents to help drive kids from church to Jam’s Deli (across from Guilford College) and then we’ll play frisbee in the Guilford College quad. Bring $10 for lunch. Parents pick up at Guilford college at 2 PM.

17 - Leave for Camp Booyah! Students should arrive to church at 10:00 AM to load cars and prepare to leave for camp. We will attend the first part of the 11am service and then eat lunch at 11:30am in the greenhouse and depart by 11:45am.

17-22 - CAMP BOOYAH (Sunday-Friday, returning home around 6pm)

24 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM

27 - WMP, lunch and Booyah Pool Party Reunion at the Hannams 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 1807 Townsend Forest Lane Browns Summit, NC 27214  

July (No Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM in July)

4 - NO WMP bc of July 4th

11 - WMP at New Garden Park & Canoeing and Kayaking at Lake Brandt. We’ll need help with rides. Please bring a bag lunch and $10 for boat rentals. Parents pick up at Lake Brandt at 3:00 PM

15 -  Families are invited to stay for a farm-to-table lunch after church to celebrate our one year anniversary of being at New Garden Park.

18 - WMP at The Hill’s at 10:00 AM and then lunch and play at Green Valley Pool Bring $5 for lunch and $5 for entry at Green Valley Pool and hang there until 3:00 PM, Hill's: 1210 Alderman Drive Greensboro, NC 27408.

25 - NO WMP because of High School Adventure Trips

24-27 - High School Adventure Trips (ManTrip and Glamping) More information to come

August

1- WMP and jumping at SkyZone 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Bring $12 for jumping. Pick-up and Drop-off at SkyZone 1572-A Highwoods Blvd, Greensboro, 27410

5 - Summer Sundays RETURNS at 10:15 AM

8- WMP at NGP and arts and crafts, board games, and air conditioned fun 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, bring $5 for lunch.

12 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM

12- Drew’s Summer Growth Series class for parents and youth leaders, Alongside: Loving Teenagers with the Gospel. Sign up on RedeemerGSO.org. $30 for 3 weeks of catered lunches and an advanced copy of the book. 1-2:30pm in the high school room.

15- WMP and Hanging Rock 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (We need drivers) Bring a bag lunch, bathing suit, towel, and clothes to hike in.

19 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM

19- Drew teaches Alongside 1-2:30

22 - Last WMP at NGP, Farm Work Day and ice cream at Homeland Creamery from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We need drivers. Bring bag lunch and $5 for ice cream. Pick up at 3:00 PM at New Garden Park.

26 - Summer Sundays at 10:15 AM

26- Drew teaches Alongside 1-2:30

September

2 - Final Summer Sunday at 10:15 AM

9 - The Q (middle school) and AP Theology (high school) kicks off on Sunday mornings at 10:15 AM

9 - SNL Fall Kick-Off at 6pm at NGP
