There are 4 times annually when we will have baptisms:
- Easter Vigil Service- April 14th at 6.30 pm at the new property in the Greenhouse.
- Pentecost Sunday - June 4th, Lord willing, at the property in the sanctuary.
- Christ the King Sunday - November 26th.
- Feast of the Epiphany - January 6th, 2018.
Confirmation
On June 11, the Bishop will be at Redeemer to do confirmations. After much discussion, we have decided that we will encourage the youth to enter the confirmation process during the spring of their 10th grade year. This will begin this spring with an invitation to all of our 10th-12th graders and the following years, it will just be offered to 10th graders.
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.
Since confirmation follows baptism, the confirmation process will be for:
Since confirmation follows baptism, the confirmation process will be for:
- Youth who were baptized as babies (or children)
- Youth who are in the process and plan to be baptized before on April 14 or June 4 (or another time prior to confirmation on June 11)
The confirmation process will involve an interview with the confirmand focusing on their understanding of:
- The Lord's Prayer
- The 10 Commandments
- The Apostle's Creed
Confirmands will have a sponsor (typically their SNL small group leader) and will interview with one of the priests, their sponsor, and Nathan Hedman (their DRIVE teacher).
If you are interested in your child entering into this process, contact Drew.
