Youth Update 10.30.14

Redeemer Youth Parents,

This Sunday (Nov 2)
As a reminder, we have 180 (6th-10th graders) on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of the month. The youth are encouraged to either serve on a servant team or take notes during the sermon on the 2nd or 4th Sundays.

We do have 180 this Sunday and following the service the youth will be dismissed during the town hall mtg. Service will end by 11:15 and the adults will stay in the auditorium while kids will be with me and other volunteers in the gym for 20 minutes during the meeting.

Compassion $
As a youth group, along with the children, we sponsor 2 kids in Rwanda, Dan & Ruth. We need to raise $76/month for both of them. Please encourage your kids to do chores and raise money to bring this Sunday to donate towards Dan & Ruth. It's collected during 180.

WAHO: Next Wednesday (Nov 5th)
We'll meet at Anna Robinson's house (near Spears YMCA) for WAHO from 4:30-6pm. They have a trampoline and we'll cook hotdogs over the bonfire. We'll pick the kids up from school as normal and just head to the Robinson's house at 4:30 instead of our home. (David & Ellen Robinson: 5 Deerwood Ct, Greensboro.)

Lecrae Concert
We currently have 12 folks going to the Lecrae concert on Thursday Nov. 20th. We'll meet at our house at 5pm that Thursday and the concert will end around 9:45pm. If your child would like to join us, please bring $ this Sunday and I will add to our group ticket order. Checks can be made payable to Church of the Redeemer for $25.

These are the folks I currently have on my list:
  1. Anna Davis
  2. Savvy (Anna’s friend)
  3. Grace Vosburgh
  4. Josh Hawkins
  5. Emily Hawkins
  6. Rivers West

  8. Mary Kate Wise

A Good Read For Parents
Teenagers often think they need to 'feel God' in order to believe He is real. Here's a short post from JD Greear that can help you process this with your kids as they move from concrete to abstract thinking.

Update on the Hills
-Natalie and I celebrate our 10th anniversary next week! (11-06-04). We're celebrating the following weekend on a marriage retreat with some other Anglican pastors.
-Our 3 month old daughter, Heart, is getting baptized next Sunday, Nov. 9th.

Thankful for the high privilege to know your kiddos,
