RYM Weekly Update 6.26.17

CHARLOTTE TRIP RECAP

The Charlotte trip was super fun! We started off by going to TopGolf where everyone got to experience it for the first time! It was a lot of fun for everyone, not just those that knew how to golf. After that, we headed to Ikea where we shopped for the new youth room and played a little hide-N-seek. To finish off the trip, we went to Concord Mills for dinner and some exploring of the mall. Drew bought a pair of shoes that has LED lights. All in all, our first Wednesday Morning Prayer trip was a success!

UPCOMING EVENTS

6.28 - Wednesday Morning Prayer
(10am-1pm)
After morning prayer this week we'll meet at the Hill house. After Morning Prayer, we're going to hangout and play some games and have fun at the Hills! Please bring $5 for pizza and don't forget to invite friends. Pickup at 1pm.

6.29 - Thursday Night Guitar Lessons with Leia Renslow (7PM-8PM)
Come to Drew's house to learn to play guitar! Bring $5 for lessons taught by Leia Renslow, Austin Drake and Lindsey Horton. All $ will go towards Leia's fundraising efforts for YWAM. If your child is interested in learning guitar, this summer is a great time to get started. They don't need to have a guitar to come and learn. Last week we had 4 folks begin learning!

7.2 - Man Night - Basketball (5:30PM-7PM)

This week for Man Night we'll be playing basketball at Lake Daniel Park (410 Mimosa Drive, Greensboro, NC 27403). Bring a Bible and some clothes you can play basketball in. We'll have parents drop off and pick up kids at the park. Justin is in charge of this event.

7.5 - Float Trip on the Dan River

After WMP on July 5th, we'll be floating down the Dan River in tubes. We rent the tubes for $13. We'll be on the river for two to three hours, so make sure to wear sunscreen and a modest bathing suit. We need to have everyone signed up by June 28th. We only have 27 spots for students and leaders, so sign up now by emailing Justin. Parents are welcome to come and join us. We need a few that are willing to help drive.

THE TECH-WISE FAMILY

Do you feel overwhelmed by parenting kids in a world where technology is changing at such a rapid pace and controlling so much of their attention? This three-week class will be a lively representation of both the philosophical and the practical. Incorporating Biblical principles, we will discuss practical ways to parent children of all ages in this new world of technology and screens. You can sign up for this class, taught by Drew Hill, here!

We now have a youth group YouTube account! We'll be using this to post videos of things that we do as a youth group. Find it here! Check out the new video of the glamping trip!
