RYM Weekly Update 9.14.17

Help Needed
Below are 4 ways you can help serve!

  • Rides on Sunday nights. Now that SNL meets immediately after the East African service ends, we are excited that some of our East African friends will be joining us for youth group. If you're ever able to help give folks rides home after SNL, let Melissa know
  • Repairing a nice refrigerator that has a broken piece and was donated to the youth room. It's currently being stored in the storage garage at church. If you know anything about fixing fridges, please contact Drew!
  • We have a nice projector in the high school room, but we need help figuring out what piece we need to order to hang it and we need help mounting it and running power to it. If you can help with any of those pieces, contact Drew.
  • We have an air hockey table that's been donated and is awesome. We also have a brand new Arcade Basketball game, but we need two handy folks to spend an hour putting it together. If you can help, let Drew know!

SNL: 6-8pm at NGP
We had an awesome time at Sunday Night Live this past week with almost 50 middle and high schoolers! We started a new series called "Mirrors: What Defines You?" We also had a little team competition. You can watch the cheers on our Instagram page.
We meet again this Sunday night, 6-8pm at New Garden Park.

Moms Bible Study
There have been a few moms who have expressed interest in doing a bible study/small group together on Sunday nights during SNL. If you're interested in being a part of that, email Emily Hull. The ladies will be doing a Beth Moore study on the book of James.
SNL FOOD $
It worked well last year to have folks pay for SNL food upfront, rather than bringing $5 each week. We'll continue to provide dinner each Sunday night this semester, mostly pizza, but we will do different food when we have small group nights at homes and we'll do a catered meal for the winning team. We also will do a pot-luck dinner for our Christmas party on Dec. 17th. In light of the meal costs, could you send $50/kid cash or check (payable to "Church of the Redeemer" with "youth budget" in the memo) with your child this Sunday night. That will help offset the costs for Sunday night meals this semester.

DRIVE/THE Q
Our Sunday morning discipleship environments start back this Sunday, Sept 17th, during the 10am community hour. We will meet every week in between the 8:30 and 11am service. While adults are fellowshipping in the Greenhouse, middle and high schoolers will gather in The Grove for DRIVE and THE Q. Students will have time to grab a snack at 10am and we'll start promptly at 10:15am and end by 10:55am.

SERVING
Now that we have two services, there are lots of opportunities for youth to serve. Youth could attend the 8:30 service, come to DRIVE/THE Q at 10:15, and then volunteer in children's ministry during the 11am service. If your child is interested in volunteering in the Children's Ministry, there will be a quick interest meeting this Sunday in the Greenhouse immediately following the first service before DRIVE/THE Q starts. Find Cherie Weber after the service. There are also other areas to serve in addition to children's ministry. Let Drew or Melissa know if you want to be on a different servant team (AV, readers, welcome, worship, ushers, etc...)
