RYM Weekly Update 7.31.17

THIS WEEK

Back Porch (Modulars) Painting Day - TUESDAY 8.1.17
Come out and help paint the youth rooms in the modulars on Tuesday! We'll be working from 9AM to 5PM, but feel free to come and go as you need to. There will be lunch catered from Jimmy John's at noon for those of you that will be there. Please register ahead of time.

Wednesday Morning Prayer and Camp Jubilee - 8.2.17
We will have WMP at New Garden from 10AM-11:30AM. After this, we'll be going to Camp Jubilee to volunteer. Camp Jubilee is a camp for kids with disabilities that meets at Besty Penn 4H Camp. We only have 12 spots, so sign up is first come first serve. If you want to come, sign up here! If you're coming, bring a bathing suit, towel, and money for lunch on the road. We will leave for Camp Jubilee after WMP and return around 9PM.

Interns Leaving Soon

Lindsey's last day with us will be this Sunday, Aug. 6 before she heads back to Berry College. Make sure to come send her off at church and I think Melissa Lewkowicz is hosting a gathering at her house on Friday night for the gals to say goodbye to Lindsey.

Justin's last day is Thursday, Aug. 10, so he'll be with us at Hanging Rock next Wednesday. Make sure to celebrate them before they head back to college. Here are a few of their favorite things.

Final Man Night of the Summer - 8.6.17
All the guys are invited to come to Luper Park for our first ever Messy Man Games! The original summer calendar says we'll be playing disc golf, but we'll be doing Messy Games instead. Come to Luper Park (1100 Pebble Drive) at 6PM wearing a bathing suit or clothes that you can get dirty. You don't have to bring goggles, but they might be a good idea for some games. Pick-up is at 8PM. We won't have dinner there so make sure to eat before you come! If you plan on coming, check out this link.

Dance & Romance - 8.6.17
The ladies will be going to a Mom's and Daughter's Safety Awareness class at Greensboro Black Belt Academy (109B Pisgah Church Road). The class is from 5:30-7:30PM on Sunday night. If you're coming, bring $10 for the class. Afterwards, the ladies will have a short gathering for a summer celebration!

PARENT RESOURCES

The Tech-Wise Family

Do you feel overwhelmed by parenting kids in a world where technology is changing at such a rapid pace and controlling so much of their attention? This three-week class starts on Aug 13 and will be a lively representation of both the philosophical and the practical. Incorporating Biblical principles, we will discuss practical ways to parent children of all ages in this new world of technology and screens. You can sign up for this class, taught by Drew Hill, here!
