WAHO Recap, Youth This Sunday, Camp Friend Discount

WAHO RECAP

• 27 kids crushed 80 slices of pizza in under 10 mins. 
• We had a 'Hashtag Battle' guessing which hashtags have been used the most times on Instagram. 
• Speed addition competition involving mattress tackling, only one small injury occurred. 
• We continued our Lenten series on spiritual disciplines focusing on prayer. We spent 30 mins together in prayer, some silent, some out loud, some in song. We walked through the ACTS method: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication. Here's a link to our slides.
• Each of the kids received journals to use during this season of Lent. They have a section for Adoration, where they can write the names of God and draw pictures and be creative. They have another section for Confession where they can confess sin and I would encourage you to respect their journals and not read their sin list when they're not looking. :)  The next section is for Thanksgiving and the last is for them to record prayer needs for themselves and for others.
• Please keep encouraging them to spend time daily reading God's word and in prayer. Also encourage them to bring their Bibles and journals with them on Wednesdays and Sundays. 
• Thanks to Debbie Vosburgh for helping with transportation as we've outgrown the 12 passenger van!

THIS SUNDAY

We are scheduled for 180 this Sunday but due to the prayer room and the fact that I'm preaching we will not meet as normal. There will be a sign up sheet at the front of the prayer room for kids to sign up upon arrival to church. The Hawkins fam is running set up of the prayer room at 9am and the Renslow family is running take down. We need other families to sign up for future weeks when you're able. Kids will use the prayer room for 20 minute windows during the service, the rest of the kids will remain in for the sermon this week.

SUMMER MISSION CAMP FRIEND DISCOUNT

I really want this summer camp to be a chance for your kids to intentionally invite friends to come along with them. In order to provide some incentive in that area, we're going to do $20 off of your child's camp trip for each non-regular-Redeemer or WAHO attender that your child brings. Invite 15 friends and they go for free! : ) The price goes up from $289 to $309 after this Sunday. Please make checks payable to Church of the Redeemer and put summer camp in the memo. You can mail them to me at 1210 Alderman Dr or hand them to me on Sunday.
